Empire Gatehouse
December 2007·pp. 86–87
THE SHORT VERSION
A fortress gatehouse and watchtower join at several different levels, requiring accurate cutting, plasticard patches and putty to hide the transitions. The asymmetrical tower and precarious upper outbuilding reinforce the Empire’s characteristic architecture. Talabheim colours establish its allegiance, while dusty stone and rusty chains age the finished structure. Added fortress sections can turn the piece into a siege setting and a deliberately contested landmark.
