PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 336

Painting the Dragon

December 2007·pp. 92–98

THE SHORT VERSION

Neil Green works from the rocky base outwards, using separate Dragon and rider subassemblies to preserve access. Red flesh and scales are differentiated through orange highlights and ink shading, while darker purple-red wings, pale reins and polished metallic armour provide contrasting materials. Thin blended layers gradually reduce the highlighted area. The Prince, decorated shield, saddle and final fittings receive their own sequences before the finished centrepiece is assembled.
