Librarians combine the roles of battlefield psyker, communicator, examiner and custodian of a Chapter’s accumulated knowledge. The article follows recruitment, purity testing and the hierarchy from Lexicanium to Chief Librarian, then explains psychic hoods, force weapons and the Emperor’s Tarot. Portraits of Ezekiel, Mephiston and Tigurius show how this shared institution takes different forms in Chapters with distinct burdens and traditions.
