Warhosts of the Firstborn

Mat Ward traces the ancient Elves’ power and decline from the Second Age through the wars caused by Sauron’s deception. The feature introduces Eregion, Rivendell, the Grey Havens and the House of Finrod as distinct backgrounds for collections. Suggested heraldry is explicitly an interpretation influenced by the films, giving players fitting uniforms without claiming Tolkien supplied definitive colour schemes for every realm.

Warhammer 40,000 Tactica: Assault Troops

Alessio Cavatore explains how assault units reach combat through speed, transports, special deployment and careful use of cover, supported by the rest of the army’s firepower. Equipment advice balances grenades, power weapons and hidden power fists against over-investment, and warns that shooting can remove the targets needed for a charge. Contributors then show the principles through faction examples, from summoned Bloodletters to Scarab Swarms and an entire Assault Marine force.
