Citadel Toolbox: Water Effects
August 2006·p. 49
THE SHORT VERSION
The guide compares painting beneath a clear water layer, tinting the fluid itself and stirring ink into an applied layer to produce unmixed swirls. Its waste-pipe example allows yellow-tinted fluid to disperse naturally into a pool, suggesting a fresh discharge. Testing on white-backed plastic palettes is recommended because the wet mixture looks milky, dries more strongly coloured and can take longer to set once paint or ink is added.
