The Art of Warhammer: Heavy Cavalry

March 2006·pp. 112–115

THE SHORT VERSION

Jeff Leong separates heavy cavalry into line-breakers, flankers, hunters and mobile reserves. Strong armour and long charges provide opportunities, but static combat resolution and baited advances can still defeat an expensive unit. Diagrams demonstrate how positioning changes an apparently favourable engagement and how supporting formations exploit the resulting gaps. Unit size and command choices are then matched to each role, with a final warning about artillery and exposed flanks.
