Tactic Four: Reserves and Unit Selection

March 2006·p. 115

THE SHORT VERSION

Mounted reserves can close an unexpected gap or delay a breakthrough while slower troops reform. Five or six models with flexible command provide enough power for several emergency roles without consuming the army’s entire striking budget. Larger line-breakers demand greater investment, while flankers and hunters can stay compact. All remain vulnerable to war machines, particularly when a shot can pass along the unit’s flank.
