The Mercenaries Tournament

THE SHORT VERSION

Leicester’s unusual tournament gives players random armies borrowed from other participants for the first two games, returning their own force only in the third. The format tests adaptability and familiarity with more than a single preferred list. It also encourages a player to design a force whose effective use rewards particular knowledge. The report describes its initial Combat Patrol version and possible extension to other systems, rather than presenting a formal new rules pack.
