SHOWCASE·WHITE DWARF 313

The Dragon Slayers

January 2006·pp. 90–95

THE SHORT VERSION

George Dellapina presents a fully mechanized Imperial Guard collection of sixteen tanks, converted Sentinels and elite infantry. Unexpected Tank Shock tactics inspired its Arthurian naming scheme, with Arthur and Excalibur acting as armoured knights. Double-width tracks, sculpted relics, elaborate equipment and matching mesh camouflage give each model an identity. Seventeen heavily converted Storm Troopers and command figures complement the tanks as a smaller force built around precise operations.

The Tau Are Back

Andy Hoare connects the new Tau codex with improvements in plastic manufacture that make Stealth suits and formerly resin vehicles available as plastic kits. The Sky Ray’s seeker missiles depend on allied markerlights, while Piranhas work in fast squadrons to contest objectives. XV25 armour introduces a revised suit with a support-system option, and Shadowsun symbolizes the third expansion. The interview presents the additions as complementary tools within the Tau’s interdependent army.
