Painting Legolas
December 2005·pp. 116–117
THE SHORT VERSION
Adrian Wood introduces beginners to painting the Fellowship through the plastic Legolas from Mines of Moria. Neatly applied flat colours distinguish his grey clothing, green tunic, brown equipment, metal fittings, flesh and pale hair over a black undercoat. Thin repeat coats improve coverage, while a mixed grey or Codex Grey finishes the base. Brush care, fresh water and braced hands accompany the sequence so the same habits can transfer to the other characters.
