Standard Brushes and the Right Tool for the Job

November 2005·pp. 121–123

THE SHORT VERSION

Fine Detail and Detail brushes trade paint capacity for precision, while Standard, Basecoat and Large brushes progressively favour coverage. Examples connect these properties to eyes, lettering, layers, washes and broad surfaces, then map different tools onto one painted Gaunt. The argument is practical: changing brush with the task avoids forcing either tiny details or large areas through an unsuitable tool.
