Making a Monster
September 2005·pp. 80–83
THE SHORT VERSION
Mike Anderson develops a Rhinox rider as a narrative display piece, first repositioning the beast’s head and building its neck in separate putty stages. Wood putty creates ragged fur, while selected Ogre legs, a rebuilt torso and repeated temporary assembly establish a convincing seated pose. Practical finishing details include a drilled halberd, armour straps, cross-range shoulder pads and trophies. Anderson explains changing his original character concept when a simpler rank-and-file rider improved the composition.
