Combining Colours and Materials
July 2005·p. 140
THE SHORT VERSION
Multiple examples combine painted sand, gravel, flock, filler, foliage and static grass into less uniform bases. Contrasting brown and green patches let a model blend with different tables, while ink washes can shade flock or mixed herbs. A detailed finish paints separate earth and stone areas before a unifying bone drybrush and grass highlights. An image-only sidebar uses Dark Green Ink with either pale bone or green-and-bone drybrushing to alter static grass.
