Towering Ambition
May 2005·pp. 106–111
THE SHORT VERSION
Adrian Wood builds an Arnorian watchtower from a round polystyrene box, wrapped card pillars and a removable domed roof, with an alternate foamboard core for those lacking the original container. A layered hill, inset stairs, doors and masonry details make it both an evocative centrepiece and usable terrain, finished through distinct rock, timber and weathered stone painting stages.
