MODELLING·WHITE DWARF 304

Shaping Clay

April 2005·p. 144

THE SHORT VERSION

Guy Haley spreads modelling clay over a card core to make weathered ruins, using a ruler to flatten surfaces and score masonry joints. Thick plastic bases resist drying-induced warping, while extra cornerstones, rubble and flocked ivy give the simple structure age; sealing and texturing then prepare it for straightforward stone drybrushing.
