Selafyn and the Cockatrice

THE SHORT VERSION

Selafyn tracks a cockatrice feeding on a dead Elf and defeats it by keeping clear of its petrifying gaze, blinding it with a desperate shield-assisted attack. The apparent victory becomes ominous when its nest reveals that he has killed only a surviving chick, just as the returning mother can be heard through the storm.
