Building Fires
April 2005·p. 134
THE SHORT VERSION
A central cocktail stick supports sharpened dowel logs, twigs form the fuel and glued wire wool represents flame and smoke. The painting begins with believable wood before introducing black char and increasingly bright stippled colours near the fire’s base, producing small atmospheric pieces that also function as watchfires in the winter scenarios.
