TACTICS·WHITE DWARF 304

Appetite for Destruction

April 2005·pp. 104–111

THE SHORT VERSION

Phil Kelly challenges the idea that Ogre tactics consist only of charging straight forward. Gnoblar Trappers preserve the distance needed for impact hits, Hunters and Sabretusks remove vulnerable support pieces, Maneaters hold dangerous cavalry and carefully timed Leadbelcher volleys support an army whose expensive units cannot afford to fight unsupported.

Contributors explain how mercenary Ogres complement Empire and Chaos forces, while an extended Gnoblar discussion identifies uses from rank support and table-quarter claims to screening, redirection and deployment deception. The army’s smaller creatures therefore supply practical control of the battlefield rather than merely comic decoration.
