PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 303

Lobelia Sackville-Baggins

March 2005·p. 35

THE SHORT VERSION

Lobelia’s apron is highlighted by adding leather and bone colours to a brown base, retaining deeper shadows between its folds. Her hair starts with the leather tone and moves through bone to white, showing how a few consistent layers can give a very small character a convincingly detailed finish.
