Chapter Approved: Abhumans

March 2005·pp. 40–45

THE SHORT VERSION

Andy Hoare distinguishes stable human offshoots from uncontrolled mutation, exploring the Imperial Guard’s pragmatic use of populations that wider Imperial society often despises. The Abhumans doctrine unlocks additional specialised regimental options, with each breed changing the army’s behaviour rather than merely supplying a cosmetic variation.

Seven options cover feral Ogryns, subterranean Nightsiders, coerced levies, unlucky cloned Afriel warriors, bestial Variatus, expendable Subs and chemically enhanced Gland Warriors. Conversion examples make the differences visible using existing infantry, Ogre and Beastman components, and the Lostok regiment supplies a background-led example of doctrine selection.
