Belly of the Beast
February 2005·pp. 20–37
THE SHORT VERSION
Phil Kelly’s three-thousand-point Ogre Kingdoms face Adam Troke’s returning Empire army in a Flank Attack around Gutenbad. Empire shooting, disruptive scouts and late cavalry reinforcements challenge a compact army whose Tyrant, Hunter and specialist creatures can deliver devastating local charges.
Fear repeatedly delays the humans, but disciplined infantry and the Elector Count prevent the centre collapsing. The Tyrant destroys key units and the Yhetees eventually overcome the knights, yet late Empire successes keep the result within a draw despite the Ogres’ higher score; both players identify narrow missed opportunities rather than a comfortable victory.
