MODELLING·WHITE DWARF 298

Ruins of the Old Ones

October 2004·pp. 47–49

THE SHORT VERSION

Rob Hawkins, Steve Stiefel and Chris Walton replace standard battlefield features with inexpensive Lustrian scenery. Carved insulation foam creates a sacrificial pit, stepped ziggurats and weathered idols, while plastic eggs and plants supply a hatchery and jungle. Unglued temple layers allow several hill heights from the same pieces. The construction retains ordinary terrain functions, so the new visual identity requires little additional rules work.
