SHOWCASE·WHITE DWARF 295

Preparing for the Storm

July 2004·pp. 14–21

THE SHORT VERSION

The White Dwarf team uses the approaching campaign to expand, finish or replace personal armies. Paul Sawyer rebuilds elements of Vradchuk’s horde, Guy Haley adds much-needed infantry to his Empire and Greg MacGregor begins a Lahmian force. Paul Rudge’s Sylvania army uses converted Grave Guard, levy and grave markers to change the way his Undead fight.

Nick Kyme develops a modest Slayer unit before committing to a complete army, while Christian Byrne reinforces his High Elves around cavalry and a new Prince. Border Patrol games provide a manageable way to test additions during lunch breaks. The projects emphasise staged collecting, personal conversions and the relationship between a force’s theme and its practical battlefield needs.
