The Art of Warhammer: Close Combat
July 2004·pp. 96–99
THE SHORT VERSION
Jeff Leong makes combat resolution the basis for decisions during melee. Defensive weapon choices can deny an opponent more points than extra attacks would gain, while challenges may expose a unit to excessive overkill. Worked examples compare attacking rank-and-file troops with striking a vulnerable character. Standards, horses and corner contact all matter, encouraging players to assess the actual contribution of each attack rather than simply choose the most heroic-looking duel.
