How to Build Your Own Boats
June 2004·pp. 130–131
THE SHORT VERSION
Chris Bone builds a rough Orc landing craft and a more graceful Swan Boat using related construction methods. Foam or foamcard establishes the hull, with balsa planks, card sides and simple details giving each vessel its character. The Swan Boat adds a carved figurehead, overlapping hull planks and a printed sail. Painting and optional weathering complete models intended to carry figures in river scenarios.
