Death by a Thousand Cuts
November 2003·pp. 34–43
THE SHORT VERSION
Andy Chambers reviews the worldwide Eye of Terror campaign and declares a qualified victory for Chaos: the attackers have devastated the Cadian Gate, although Cadia and key Imperial positions still resist. He explains the control percentages, cascading effects, event cards and player organisation that let concentrated local efforts produce strategic consequences. The comparison with Armageddon shows why this campaign was designed to give coordinated groups more influence over the map.
Regional narratives and results follow the fighting across Cadia, Scarus, Nemesis, Chinchare, Belial IV, the Sentinel Worlds, Agripinaa, Belis Corona, Eidolon, Scelus, Medusa and Caliban. They also trace the T’au expansion, the return of Altansar, the Imperial Navy’s recovery and the divergent aims of major characters. Reports from North American events connect the published outcome to actual games, preserving both the fictional consequences and the organisation behind them.
