Dying Flame: The Last Stand of the Firebrands

November 2003·pp. 66–69

THE SHORT VERSION

Pete Haines follows Inquisitor Nathan Flintlock’s investigation into missing stars and a devastating Necron attack on an Imperial observatory. A mission to Seneschal reveals an immense tomb world and evidence of a star god being revived, but the Mechanicus expert’s fascination jeopardises the means to destroy it. The Cadian Firebrands must hold the tomb entrance while Deathwatch recover the necessary arming codes. The account frames their sacrifice against the Inquisition’s ruthless judgement of what the mission requires.
