Painting the Emperor’s Children

October 2003·pp. 48–49

THE SHORT VERSION

Shaun Murphy explains the split pink-and-black scheme on Aly Morrison’s Emperor’s Children, using purple outlines and carefully placed pale highlights to keep the armour legible. Separate recipes tackle aged metal, flayed skin, tassels, tubing and faces, adding variety without overwhelming the main colour division. The treatment extends to the base and smaller ornaments, showing how an intricate Slaaneshi model can retain a clear silhouette and a consistent finish.
