Camouflage: Principles and Pattern Design
October 2003·pp. 54–55
THE SHORT VERSION
Tammy Haye explains why effective miniature camouflage needs a simpler, bolder pattern than its full-sized counterpart. Contrasting dark, middle and light colours break up a uniform without dissolving the figure’s shape, while plain armour can balance patterned clothing. The guide advises highlighting the underlying fabric and interrupting patterns at seams, then uses a sniper example to show how a small palette can suggest environmental concealment.
