BATTLE REPORT·WHITE DWARF 284

The Seven Sigmarites

August 2003·pp. 40–51

THE SHORT VERSION

Paul Sawyer’s Chaos army faces Valten, Luthor Huss and five Warrior Priests, each controlled by a different player, in a variation on The Seven Knights scenario. Army choices and character conversions show how the priestly band hopes to compensate for its tiny size with prayers, protective items and carefully chosen challenges. Chaos instead seeks to divide the heroes with mobile troops and deal with them in smaller groups.

The contest turns on the limits of coordination and the heroes’ vulnerability to combat results even when they are difficult to wound. Valten absorbs remarkable punishment and individual priests achieve memorable victories, but fleeing characters and the loss of the young champion leave Chaos successful. The players’ closing comments compare their intended teamwork with the decisions and dice that actually determined the battle.
