Famous Regiments of the Imperial Guard
August 2003·pp. 80–85
THE SHORT VERSION
Andy Hoare and Graham McNeill profile five distinctive Guard traditions through their home worlds, uniforms and battle honours. The Necromundan Spiders bring hive-gang loyalties into military service; the Mordant Acid Dogs specialise in darkness and tunnels; Drookian Fen Guard exploit marshland and infiltration. Finreht Highlanders and the mechanised Jouran Dragoons show different relationships between tribal populations, noble officers and Imperial authority. Illustrated soldiers and campaign dispatches connect these local identities to the fighting around the Cadian Gate.
