LORE·WHITE DWARF 518

Death on Wheels

November 2025·pp. 86–89

THE SHORT VERSION

A survey of chariots in the Mortal Realms describes the tactical mixture of speed, missile fire and devastating impact that makes them so dangerous. It also stresses their risks: momentum must be maintained, crews are exposed, and a failed charge can leave an expensive vehicle surrounded or battered by stronger monsters.

Four in-world accounts give the subject different cultural voices. Stormcast train on changing tracks in the Gladitorium, ogors complain about a rival grot charioteer, a cursed noble’s black coaches wander the night, and a tribal saga recalls Rarg Raaka’s spectacular challenge to the gods. Together they turn racing and chariot warfare into part of the setting’s folklore.
