Hobby Hangout: Painting Orruk Skin

March 2025·pp. 86–89

THE SHORT VERSION

Emily applies familiar flesh-painting principles to greenskins, favouring translucent glazes over abrupt edges and using the colour wheel to choose complementary accents. Cool green skin benefits from warmer red areas at lips and joints, while yellow-green flesh can take cooler purple accents. Worked examples cover Kruleboyz, grots, hobgrots and a larger Brute Rager, showing how changing the wash and highlight sequence produces distinct complexions.
