Basic Training: Movement

March 2025·pp. 90–93

THE SHORT VERSION

Jimbo explains why movement decisions determine much more than distance travelled. Running can secure objectives but limits later actions unless a unit bypasses those restrictions; movement order keeps heroes protected, forward screens deny objectives, and careful spacing blocks enemy arrivals. Retreating can save a unit or enable a new charge, while a near-destroyed undead unit can sometimes exploit damage and replacement rules to reappear elsewhere. A Nighthaunt-versus-Troggoth puzzle tests those ideas.
