Painting Question: Burning Skulls for the Skull Throne

THE SHORT VERSION

Angron’s sword skulls begin bright and become progressively darker away from their hottest core. Yellow and orange glazes over white produce heat, followed by dark brown toward the edges. This reversal of ordinary highlighting creates the impression of light coming from within the skulls rather than falling onto them.
