Cross the Water: Out of the Swamps

THE SHORT VERSION

An attacking army emerges through dense mist with a temporary protective ward. As the ambush develops, objective control becomes more valuable each round and destroying expensive enemy units supplies additional points. Extra command resources for the player behind in the score keep the late battle contested, rewarding both an early strike and a sustainable plan for the watery terrain.

Painting Question: Death from the Skies!

Chris Innes supplies the studio Ripperdactyl recipe and explains how to reduce the risk of freehand mistakes. Painting the wing markings over the basecoat before shading means corrections can use one known colour rather than an uncertain blend. Warm orange skin, pale membranes and darker brown markings are developed through the accompanying base, wash and highlight stages.
