Brush Tips: Scythes of the Emperor

THE SHORT VERSION

Tom Ambrose paints the pale-undercoated yellow torso separately from the black limbs, then assembles the model after the initial colours are established. Controlled, diluted glazes create soft yellow shadows and highlights, while purple accents on the weapon, lenses and defeated Tyranid provide a complementary colour throughout the composition.
