Chaplain Sephax studies the Tome Keepers’ records with a newly personal understanding of the Chapter’s traditions and home world. Apparently unrelated ambushes and battlefield disasters reveal a recurring Ecclesiarchal connection, and an old grievance from the Sanctimonia Conflict suggests that supposed Imperial allies have pursued a hidden campaign against the Chapter for millennia.
