Index Astartes: Inheritors of Russ

March 2020·pp. 18–27

THE SHORT VERSION

The Space Wolves’ Fenrisian culture, recruitment trials and flexible pack organisation frame the difficult arrival of Primaris reinforcements. Their conduct, shared genetic burden and the Chapter’s desperate losses help win acceptance, while sagas and the evacuation of Sorilia show the newcomers fighting alongside their older brothers.

Worlds of Warhammer: His Dudes

Jordan Green follows Da Morkagorka Madladz from a randomly chosen Bonesplitterz warband into a cast of named characters with victories, deaths and new recruits. The Warcry campaign inspires purple warpaint, conversions and a later army, demonstrating how playing with a collection can generate its own distinctive background.

Echoes from the Warp: Bridges Between Playstyles

Elliot Hamer draws on running tournaments and campaign weekends to challenge rigid divisions between narrative and matched play. Thematic armies can still be effective, while adapting to uneven mission conditions tests generalship; discussion between opponents helps combine background, challenge and memorable moments in the same battle.
