INTERVIEW·WHITE DWARF 421

The Birth of Angels

August 2017·pp. 44–51

THE SHORT VERSION

Ben Jefferson and the Citadel designers describe Primaris Marines as a development of established Space Marine visual language, using familiar armour shapes and equipment to preserve recognition. The clean new suits leave room for practical wargear, while different stances and armour constructions communicate the roles of Intercessors, Aggressors, Inceptors and Reivers. Specialists retain the symbols of their professions, with the Apothecary’s recovered progenoid and the Chaplain’s moving cassock telling particular stories. Tom Walton explains the blunt grav mechanics and internal capacity of the Repulsor and the Redemptor’s modular joints and protected sarcophagus, connecting plausible function with modelling freedom.
