The Unbound Storm
July 2017·pp. 96–103
THE SHORT VERSION
James Karch traces his Astral Templars from two Liberator units and a Lord-Celestant to an enormous multi-chamber collection. New releases repeatedly revive his interest, while efficient painting methods, selective conversions and a rivalry with Jes Bickham keep the army growing. The discussion ranges from a four-Stardrake centrepiece to the different textures of Vanguard troops and the difficulty of choosing a favourite miniature. James favours established background and achievable techniques, substituting careful drybrushing for individually highlighted scales when it produces a convincing army more quickly.
