Painting the New Primaris Librarian
July 2017·pp. 114–117
THE SHORT VERSION
Paul Norton raises a character above ordinary troop standard through additional highlights, careful facial tones and attention to contrasting materials. The head is painted separately, large armour areas establish the palette first, and glazes soften cream robes into yellow while keeping their texture distinct from hard blue armour. Detailed sequences cover gold, cloak lining, parchment, cables, red cloth, reflective force sword, face, beard, eyes and gem. Advice on drybrushing cables, centring lettering and protecting bare joining surfaces makes the guide useful beyond this one miniature.
