Michael Kim’s Blood Angels

December 2013·pp. 106–107

THE SHORT VERSION

Michael combines carefully marked troops and vehicles with dramatic centrepieces. Space Hulk Terminators join the army under Librarian Calistarius. A Librarian Dreadnought bursts through an Ork Stompa, lifted by the Wings of Sanguinius. Consistent painting across ordinary Marines keeps the spectacle from depending only on that conversion.

Escalation

Sixteen super-heavy machines and gargantuan creatures enter the new Lords of War slot. Their datasheets cover examples from Baneblades to Harridans and Revenant Titans. Eight Altar of War scenarios accompany three Gauntlet challenges. The review presents those units as a new ingredient for regular games rather than the full spectacle of Apocalypse.
