Eddie Eccles’s Salamanders Dreadnought

December 2013·p. 89

THE SHORT VERSION

Eddie imagines a former Forgefather continuing his service after grievous injury. A Saurus shield and Corsair cloak stand for fire-drake hide. A Dreadknight halberd and heavy flamer recreate the warrior’s former equipment. His invented history develops from an army initially inspired by Nick Kyme’s novels.

Escalation

Sixteen super-heavy machines and gargantuan creatures enter the new Lords of War slot. Their datasheets cover examples from Baneblades to Harridans and Revenant Titans. Eight Altar of War scenarios accompany three Gauntlet challenges. The review presents those units as a new ingredient for regular games rather than the full spectacle of Apocalypse.
