Citadel Texture
April 2012·p. 38
THE SHORT VERSION
Chad Mierzwa explains how Texture paints combine ground colour and a coarse surface in one application, reducing the separate gluing, sanding and painting stages of ordinary basing. Washes, drybrushing and tufts then customise the result, and the wet material can be shaped into footprints, ruts or small craters. A complete sandy-base example demonstrates the relationship between textured ground, a pale highlight and a neat painted rim.
