Dave chooses an ordinary-looking companion whose simple surfaces offer unusual freedom to a painter. He has returned to Gui repeatedly with very different palettes. The figure’s posture and restrained detail communicate character without elaborate equipment. A winning diorama and related Bretonnian characters place the sculpt within Michael’s classic range.
