The background traces the Colleges to Magnus’s war against Chaos and the teaching of Elven mages. Human students specialise because they cannot safely master the full combination of magical winds. Each College’s character is described through its preferred arts and temperament. The Wheel of Magic connects those identities before the painting challenge turns them into figures.
