PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 352

Weathering the Stompa

April 2009·p. 80

THE SHORT VERSION

Irregular dark chip shapes are filled with brown or silver to suggest different damage ages. Controlled sepia streaks imply rust, while black washes suggest leaking oil. Mud gathers on feet, lower armour and platforms. Real machinery photographs guide placement so weathering supports the model’s construction.
