Owen Rees introduces himself as White Dwarf’s new editor, a Yorkshire hobbyist whose career has ranged from stores to the Studio and web team. His favourite armies connect long-standing Dark Angels enthusiasm with the Tahnelian Drop Troops he is currently expanding. He praises the sectional layout and practical hobby material established by his predecessors, and explains his own enjoyment of tournaments as social gatherings that generate new ideas.

Graham McNeill initially sneaks his Initiates toward the first tank, but a detected patrol raises the alarm and costs him a Marine. A well-timed distraction opens the way to the first objective, after which the Templars shoot and fight toward the second. Adam Troke deliberately exchanges Brutes for alarm counters and a concentrated defence, keeping Gutgob alive long enough to trigger his doomsday device. The explosion annihilates the battlefield and hands the Orks their destructive victory.
