Behind Enemy Lines: Tactica Scouts

December 2005·pp. 52–55

THE SHORT VERSION

Mat Ward values Scouts for inexpensive Marine statistics, Troops availability and the flexibility of infiltration. Four sample forces use them as an expendable forward screen, the bulk of a surgical strike, guides for an armoured spearhead or suppressing troops supporting rapid assaults. Their weaker armour, restricted heavy weapons and limited transports require careful role selection. He also stresses having a fallback plan for missions where infiltration is unavailable.
